i like the idea of being thin
but planning meals (like they seem to demand in diet books) makes me want to tear my eyes out
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:04, 2 replies, latest was 16 years ago)
Just eat less
It's a piece of piss. Forget the diet books.

Eat a balanced diet, and eat less than you would normally. You'll feel hungry but once you get used to it, you'll find it OK.

I do that, but I really need to
do a big deal one to lose a decent amount thanks to dumbass thyroid issues. Currently the gym is my friend

diets always suggest giving up coffee
and I'd rather be fat than do that.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:10, Reply)
Coffee freaks me out how can something
that smells so good taste so foul.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:12, Reply)
I think that about herbal teas
coffee is brilliant. Although I toyed with the idea of switching to decaf and Wiggy said "you know people don't drink coffee for the taste right?"

I only have a couple a day
But if I have a work day without coffee, I get splitting headaches. Oddly doesn't effect me on weekends though.

I hate coffee
I'm with Bobby: smells good, tastes awful.

When I need a coffee I follow carefully this recipe to avoid dissapointments:

Pick a big mug. Put 1 finger (horizontally) of coffee, add milk, heat, add 6 full tea-spoons of sugar. It's just about drinkable.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:29, Reply)
Or bung a shot of espresso
in to a mug of good quality hot chocolate. It's drinkable that way, too.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:47, Reply)
I don't like chocolate either
unless it has milk, biscuits and peanuts.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:54, Reply)
I still have a child's palette (not sure of spelling) I don't like coffee, whisky or beetroot or ale.

(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:28, Reply)
You don't like ale?
Really? Bah, and I thought you were a nice guy.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:34, Reply)
Cider me up landlord.
I used to love Ale when I first started drinking then I discovered cider and never went back.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:35, Reply)
Yes
they suggest stop drinking beer. I can't stop drinking beer. Beer is gooooood
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:13, Reply)
simple
just replace with a pint of delicious low calorie vodka
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:14, Reply)
Mmmm
delicious
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:27, Reply)
then get used to not being as thin as you'd like
simple as that.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:15, Reply)
but then what would I have
to complain of?
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:21, Reply)
I reckon
if I stop eating and do lots of exercise, I could still have beer and get thin.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:27, Reply)
and die of malnutrition

(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:35, Reply)
Yes
But slimmer.
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:54, Reply)
corpses are all slim after a while

(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 14:55, Reply)
I'm not willing to wait
though I have lost a stone recently
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 15:01, Reply)
I can recommend a course of flesh-eating bacteria

(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 15:14, Reply)
I have considered the merits more than once
but I don't think I'd want to take the risk of dying. Also harder to source than you might think
(, Thu 19 Aug 2010, 15:16, Reply)
I hate that as well
I did it for a while, but I don't have the time or patience to do it. Counting every single thing to make sure you prepare it right and you're not eating too much.
