Has been for nearly an hour and a half. Can't even read a book, the only light I have is candles, and the only way I could get them somewhere to provide light to read by would set my hair alight...
As my phone battery steadily dies, suggest things I could do to be less bored

Pretend that it's not a powercut
But the end of civilisation as we know it. Then have a hunt round your house and see if you can find enough stuff by candlelight to survive the oncoming trials of the lawless new world you find yourself in. How would you get and store clean drinking water? How are you going to get enough to eat? How will you defend yourself against the gangs of raiders and scavengers that will inevitably crop up soon after the event? How are you going to get enough fuel to keep warm as winter draws in?

Alternatively, make sure all the candles are out, put your head down and get an early night. One of the two.

On the plus side, you're harming the environment a bit less now you've got no light or heat.
In fact, if we deny the poorest 99% of the population light, heat and running water, we might be able to slow down global warming cooling oscillation whatever before it kicks our sorry arses, and keep hold of the moral high ground at the same time.
