A tenner?You should've complained harder!
when I worked for sainsbury's home delivery I could give up to £50. The best one was when a student rang up to complain her melon wasn't very fresh, so I refunded the cost to her credit card cos she wouldn't shut up.

You're always better ringing up,because there's more incentive for the callcentre monkey to get rid of you. Sadly, arseholes get more money. If you're a bit angry you're more likely to get more money than if you ring up, state the facts and see what they're going to do.
I can't complain to save my life, I hate confrontation and am happy with a replacement product.
