I want a new snare
Do you favour wooden or steel/other for snare?
(, Fri 24 Sep 2010, 18:20, Reply)
I'll probably go for wooden
I don't particularly like some of the overtones on metal snares.

I got my hands on an old 12" wooden snare a few weeks ago. Pretty rubbish, but I replaced the skins, removed the snares and fitted tom skins, so its a shallow tom now.

That sounds nice
I had a piccolo snare as a second for a time they are really punchy and zingy. Definitely not an all rounder snare. If I had the money I would be in the Birmingham Drum Centre buying lot's of new toys.

I had a great drum store just near me when I was living in Glasgow
Often stopped in and had a bit of a play about, coveting things like cowbells, snares, cymbals and double bass pedals.

cowbells
cannot play one without thinking of Guns N Roses.

have you used rototoms?
great sound

did I tell you I played drums some more last night at practice? Definite improvement over last week already.
(, Fri 24 Sep 2010, 18:34, Reply)
Yeah at one point I had two snares, two rack toms, two floor toms
And a rack of three rototoms. I have stripped down to much less now (wahey)

That's good news, it's fun isn't it. I am gonna have a bash in a minute now I'm not going out. I think it will be headphones on drumming along to something. I am thinking Camaros at the moment.

you are my hero.
Since playing a lot with my band I've got a new appreciation of every instrument, and currently it is drums. Been listening to Dragonforce and getting mesmerised.

Dragonforce mean it
hard
