I've had two colds this term already and at least two of my students were in with colds today. While I appreciate the enthusiasm, I don't appreciate the snot

I'm a bit pissed off about it
as I haven't had any sick time in almost a year, and I'm probably going to have to take tomorrow off as a result, which cocks up my Bradford index score as the last two occurences were a one and two day sick leave period last October and November respectively. The more time off consisting of odd days you have, the worse your score is over a rolling 12 month period, which can result in disciplinary action. Whereas having one two week period of sick lowers your score, even though it's more of a headache productivity wise.

oh there was something like that in a shop I worked in
If you had two many periods of sick leave you had to have counseling, but not if you had a few weeks off.

It's utter crap.
If I'm starting to feel ill, a couple of days off and in bed usually straightens me out and means I can get back to work and hit deadlines and stuff. If I were to soldier in, I'd make myself worse and end up having up to 2 weeks off, which fucks everyone over, not to mention probably felling them with the same thing too.

Still, the organisation closes in March 2012, so I doubt they're going to sack me over it and I'm still well within the warning limit. I'd haev just liked to get to the 12 month start all over again bit is all.
