Do you want to know them?
You sound quite bitter about it, which I can understand, but I wondered if that was because you don't know anything about them?

I've got a friend who is adopted
And he was initially keen to find his natural parents, but the folks who adopted him didn't want him to.

It has got to be a difficult thing to do.

Yeah it must be hard for both parties
I don't know how I'd feel if it was the other way around, if I had given a child up for whatever reason I don't know if I'd want to be involved in its life, especially if it had happily moved on with adoptive parents.

I just want to know what they are like
and where I get my character from as I am nothing like my adopted family
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 12:53, Reply)
Yeah I think I would want to know that
nature v nurture and all that.

And I suppose there are the health implications
Are there any hereditary conditions you need to be aware of.

This is all getting a bit serious now
Almost like a proper 'grown up' conversation.

I'm not usually but sometimes I wonder what would be different
Id I had stayed in Ireland with them. It's wierd. Plus my name would be Diarmid Kelly which is cooler than Andy.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 12:51, Reply)
how old were you?
Do you know the reason for them giving you up? When I was younger I always said that if I got pregnant I would give it up for adoption because at that age I wouldn't be able to give it the life it deserves.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 12:53, Reply)
I was born with a tumour on one kidney so had that taken out and spent the first 14 months in hospital
before going to foster care and being adopted at 2 and a bit. I will adopt when I'm older and find a girl to put up with me.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 12:55, Reply)
Do they let gingers adopt?

(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 12:57, Reply)
a druggy and a freak
we will be top parents.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 13:01, Reply)
I have a feeling I might not be able to have kids
not sure why. But I would adopt over going through all that IVF thing, I think adoption should be first choice over IVF, although I'm aware I may feel differently if it does actually come up. I want to adopt a black baby to upset Wiggy's racist grandma.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 13:01, Reply)
IVF seems very expensive for what is
at best a roll of the dice. Adopting a black baby would be ace but I want a Japanese baby so he can be my karate kid.
(, Thu 7 Oct 2010, 13:03, Reply)
That is the best reason to adopt a black baby.
And I hope their is a box you can tick on the forms you'd have to fill in.

'Reason for wanting to adopt?'

'Racist Grandma' *ticks*
