Don't forget it's you who is getting married. Not them.
You don't have to yeild to their whims. It's your big day, so do what you want, get married where you want at a time you want.

What is the most awesome thing about your pending nuptials?
The food? The dress? The entertainment?

The entertainment
I can't say much here, as BGB is going, but there'll be SURPRISES

I've tried to stop thinking about it
As I'm getting fatter by the minute. I think it's all this stress.
(, Wed 13 Oct 2010, 13:04, Reply)
I know, I know
But my mother, being as bad as she is sometimes, is helping me a lot with all this and she shouldn't have to get all this crap, only because they're too cheap to call me to England.

You're marrying an English lad yes?
Are his family kicking off about having to jump on a plane to witness the happy occasion?

Maybe remind them that other are happy to put the effort in to attending, that might prompt them to put up and shut up.
(, Wed 13 Oct 2010, 12:15, Reply)
No, they aren't
But my family replied that we chose the place so that it was easy for the English to go there and didn't think of anyone else. Because it's my fault that they live in the deepest, uncomunicated part of Spain.
(, Wed 13 Oct 2010, 12:28, Reply)
point out you could've had the wedding in England
they just sound massively unreasonable
(, Wed 13 Oct 2010, 12:32, Reply)
Well, I said
They replied that would have been better, because they've been in Tenerife so many times and only a couple in England (that said in front of my parents and brother, who still live in Tenerife, travel EACH year to visit them, and have only recieved less than a dozen visits from all of them in total in 30 years)

And it wouldn't have been easier, contrary to what they think, as they live miles away from any reasonable airport.
