It is. Sort of.
Hip hop is like a martial art- different disciplines. Graf, MCing, DJing, breaking and production.

Hip hop culture was born out of poverty. For kids that couldn't afford records they just used their mouths to make beats instead. Check Rahzel for some next level shit.
