I've just finished a rewatch of all of em. Two moments in the wire kill me and leave me with a huge lump in my throat. One is when Carver has to leave Randy at the foster home and the other is the montage at the end of season 5.

Didn't make it
but I did buy cans of soup at the small one and some onions/peppers and miscellaneous things like stock cubes, a bowl, some teaspoons. Plus satsumas and special k cereal bars
