nah, you're not being thick, it's complicated
on one hand she wants to keep her house and for it to be in her name
on the other she doesn't want to because it reminds her of her ex, the love of her life, etc etc

well her mum offered to help her get a smaller place if needed and she said she was going to ask me to move with her and not the other roommate
