I've never seen The Godfather films
and I've never been skiing, either. I tried to go snowboarding once, but I got so pissed off with falling over every 5 seconds that I used it as a sledge instead.

Godfather, that's a point, never seen any of them either!

I snowboarded once on a dry ski slope
I was a natural at it, just a shame I've never been on a skiing holiday.

Skiied, fell over, got up, fell over, got up, starting moving, fell, rolled down slope, taking out several kids, hit tree.
Never been back.

you should do,
by day three you'll be confident and you'll love it.

I was confident on just this little training session
But then the dry ski slope was rather small.

Dry ski slopes have a very different feel to real snow,
it's less uniformed and can be a lot harder to slow down on snow.
It's also piss easy to faceplant on snow.

A uni mate of mine came back after Christmas with a 'modified' nose
He faceplanted onto some compacted snow and did a really good job of evenly smearing it across his face.
