God now I want a curry and I've just eaten.

(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:41, 1 reply, 15 years ago)
I want a curry
but I have eaten Indian food about four times in my life in terms of take out, and thus would have no idea

Really? You need to go with a bunch of friends to a restaurant.
Everyone orders what they want and then you can try and bit of each and find out what you like.

How spicey do you like your food?

(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:46, Reply)
non spicy
When I go to an Indian (rarely) I just have korma
(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:47, Reply)
You can try different curries but just ask them not to make it too hot.
You can have a mild balti or a hot balti etc
(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:50, Reply)
Will do
Mind you the curry place of choice here is disgusting. I personally know someone who pissed in the kitchen and when told off by the staff, pointed out they had fewer health stars than the kebab van outside

Or chicken yoghurt as it is also known!
There are loads of other mild dishes if you don't like your food spicy.

What not try a Passanda? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasanda

Ooo! that Jimmy Wales is quite cute.

yes he is

(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:54, Reply)
that actually looks tasty

(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:57, Reply)
they are lovely
but quite literally the most fattening of the lot!

if you like them quite creamy, something like a rezala is better, as it's yoghurt based. otherwise stick with the more tomato-onion ones, like dopiaza or bhuna.

i was 22 before i had my first curry
now i LOVE it. but esp in manchester, the curry mile is the best.

We have a fantastic Indian restaurant near us.
Really nice food and they give loads of good advice on what to try.
(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:48, Reply)
i had my first ones at 18
when I came to uni. Swansea is full of them, I even had a student discount card from on. A friend got a christmas card from another, which probably means they had too much curry
(, Fri 12 Nov 2010, 19:50, Reply)
Now you love it?
Well, you can't curry love.
You'll just have to wait...

I won't post any more and I'll think of nothing better than the ones on that list!
