I'm trying to read Narrow Dog to Carcassone,
it's about a retired couple on a narrowboat who decide to try and cross the channel. I really want to read it but the way the guy writes is just absolutely dreadful. He doesn't use speech marks so it's all he said this and then I said this, blah blah says I to him. It's like wading through tar.

was written in full on Glesgea and far too hard to read easily. Also the story was mittens

try "how late it was, how late" by james kelman. I've never got more than 10 pages into that, it's just unintelligible. And I live in Scotland.

Just get used to his writing style. It's fine, it's not that hard to deal with. At least he's not Dan Brown.

I've kind of got into it now
When I first started it I wasn't really concentrating so I kept having to re-read bits and then I got annoyed, but now I'm quite enjoying it. I've been given the sequel, Narrow Dog to Indian River, as well.

I do think the guy thinks he's a bit funnier than he is though and so far when he's tried to be stoic and moving it hasn't really come across very well, but I'm going to keep going with it!
