caramelised onion hummus isn't as nice as normal hummus.

Ha ha ha, yeah.
I'm getting in before the explanation to make me look smart.

No explanation, I just don't like caramlised onion hummus.
Your post did make me laugh though so I clicked it.

Moroccan style I like best
although I agree, standard-issue is probably second.

I agree.

have you been to that houmous restaurant? it just serves loads of different varieties of houmous and breads, basically.
i've never worked near enough to one to go for lunch, and nobody apart from me seems to think it's worth going for dinner!

houmous and bread for dinner
no, doesn't sound too appealing
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 14:09, Reply)
i could happily live off bread and houmous
got to be that hot thin persian stuff though (levash?) or possibly toasted pitta.
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 14:14, Reply)
you'd get sick of it rather quickly I imagine
go on and try it one day

I do like hummus, but as more of a snack than a meal

It sounds a bit 'prison', eh?

(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 14:25, Reply)
well I've been to jail
but I didn't stick around for dinner
breakfast was bad enough
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 14:29, Reply)
I think it sounds great, though it would probably be better as dinner (northern timing).

(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 14:12, Reply)
I'm not sure it merits being the main focus of an evening meal,
if I am honest. My mother made her own once - not worth the bother, she claimed.
(, Tue 30 Nov 2010, 14:21, Reply)
I made some once and spilt a bottle of sesame oil over the kitchen carpet.
Therefore your Mum is correct.
