If they haven't answered it in 20 rings, why can't you get the message that they're not there?

Even worse, you've been waiting for somebody to answer and after 3 minutes of incessant ringing, you pick it up in the vain hope that it may be important :

"Is Tina there?"

IT RINGS FOR THREE MINUTES AND A BLOKE ANSWERS. IF TINA WAS HERE SHE'D HAVE FUCKING ANSWERED IT, WOULDN'T SHE, YOU STUPID GIMP?

This happens a lot where i work
And it angers me.

I occasionally answer "yes X is here, they just don't want to talk to you"

And when the phone rings again in a minute
and your just thinking leave a message the first time and they will call you back, ringing and ringing isn't going to make them magically appear back at their desk and answer their phone!

AND

When people have really wank ringtones on their mobiles and leave it on their desk and then it keeps going off when they are in a meeting and the tune gets in your head and you start humming it and you don't want to put it on silent because they might get funny about you messing with their phone...

In the workshop we have a phone which is connected to a large buzzer type thing, so that it can be heard from anywhere around the place or when there's a lot of noise.
It is the most fucking brain cell destroying high pitched piece of crap I have ever heard, and when nobody picks it up it does my fucking head in more than i can possible describe, it's not as if they can't hear it, I can hear it enough that it makes me want to die!!!
