This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

Just spotted this on the Beeb...

I think this fits this QOTW perfectly. Fecking mental, I mean we could always run around blowing ourselves up, but renaming a teddy bear, fuck no, end of civilisation as we know it.

Blimey
That's what is wrong with the world today, people getting far too concerned about little things which were never meant to cause any offence.
Islamists have a knack of taking offence at any slight cause, 'someone's called a teddy bear Muhammed quickly lets put her in jail', if someone called a bear Jesus that wouldn't happen here.

Yeah, but...
It isn't against Christianity to portray Jesus.
It's against Islam to portray the prophet Muhammed.

Not that I'm saying that's what the woman was doing or that the reaction has been the correct one but that's why they react the way they do.

Isn't Muhammad a perfectly normal - and quite widely used - name?
What about Muhammad Ali?

How is this political correctness?
And not just a totalitarian Islamist regime?

Fucking Religion...
apparently it gives an excuse for unreasonable and ridiculous views.

Christ, the woman could have called the teddy Maddie McCann over here and got nought but a public firing, some bashing in the Sun and a handshake and a pat on the back from me.

Extremist views and politics cannot mix, regardless of whether or not these views are based on religion.

But the children!
But the children named it, right? Were they too young to realize this was a major no-no? And why did it take 5 weeks for a complaint to be made if this is sooooo terrible? I smell a parent who wants to make trouble.

OTOH, I'm not blaming her, but she does live there, I would imagine she would know how scalding an insult it would be to name a toy after the Prophet, peace be upon him. Or whatever.

Nuke them all...
...and shoot all the survivors in the dark.
