has always wanted a tortoise.
So far I've succeeded in persuading her that they are better off left in their natural habitat.

they are suprisingly quick and they like digging at your skirting boards

maybe look after someone's for them or something. They're alright but they're not hugely rewarding, are complex to care for and can be pretty grumpy things. I'm always a bit sceptical when it comes to people wanting to own reptiles.
It's hilarious when they try to attack/mate with things and make that squeek-toy noise though.
