when it's over weight pisses me off. I'm 12st wet through and I get the same allowance as some person way heavier than me? I think they should bring in a £ per Lb per mile. That'd make it a lot fairer.

I wanted to suggest the bag is overweight as her stomach was overhanging onto the scales.

unless you're talking about a small prop plane (which would probably only have about 4 or 5 spaces anyway) - if anybody asked 4 or 5 fat people to leave a plane I was on because otherwise it won't take off, then I'd be right after them.

The most they'll ever do is ask heavier people to sit nearer the wing or, if there is a problem with one of the holds, ask them to sit on the opposite side of the plane

I would assume that various models of plane have a maximum weight they are permitted to carry - probably set somewhat below the point that safety would become an issue. If the combined weight of people+baggage exceeded this, wouldn't it be fairly likely that a few passengers+associated baggage would have to get off, just to get back below the numbers insisted upon by insurers (or whatever)?

I find this all hilarious
I'm more concerned with the fact that Ryanair had 9 complaints held against them from trading standard in the first half of 2007*, rather than the slightly extra they charge for the little things.

Ask your family what it was like trying to fly anywhere 20 years ago. Now it's as cheap as fuck and you're whinging that you have to pay a little bit more to take on a hold bag.

People don't mind paying extra for a ticket if it's all included.

It's the shitty little extra charges (credit card surcharge and online check-in - even though there's no other way) that piss everyone off so much.

Charge more and don't hide behind extra charges that 99% can't avoid.

When you total up all the extras and hidden charges, its usually the same cost for flying with a proper scheduled carrier who actually treat you like a human being. Sod wanker-air and fly BA, Air France KLM etc

definitely. Go to the BA website and look up a European flight. Cost quoted is all-in and usually to an airport near a town. Go to the Ryanair website and work out the actual cost of paying for that flight and your usual luggage and checking in online and then transferring yourself the 200 miles to the town named on the website that you actually wanted to visit. Almost anything is cheaper and less scummy than Ryanair. I cannot quantify how much I despise that thieving shyster company.

I blame Bryanair customers.
An airline cannot afford to operate safely and within the rules when selling fares at 2 a time. So, don't pay them.
I fly quite regularly and if I was charged less than about 100 a flight I d wonder how good their insurance and engineering crews were
If a flight to the Bahamas costs less than the taxi to the airport then, perhaps, it's dodgy..
