This is a question Question of the Week suggestions

Each week we ask a question. The idea is to generate material that's:

* interesting to read, i.e. we won't get bored of reading the answers after about 10 of them
* not been asked on this site before
* fun to answer

What would you like to ask? (We've left this question open - so feel free to drop in ideas anytime.)

Narrow escapes
I once avoided getting caught up in an IRA bombing attack by missing a train. Tell us about your narrow escapes.

Yeah, but we only have to get lucky once...

Was it the Manchester one...
I missed it too by deciding to get pissed before the England Scotland Euro 96 game

I was in the Manchester one
I didn't miss it, but I wasn't hurt.
Sounds odd but it was an experience.

Kings Cross fire
basicallly I felt too ill to meet a friend, so I sent a subsitstute in my place. I was due to meet a friend from home at Kings Cross.

Luckily (and I use that word lightly), both people got out before the full extent of the fire. I've never felt so grateful in my life.

Fuck, that was a bad night. I shat myself on watching the 10 o'clock news. Obviously thinking that both friends had been caught up in that, the relief when they phoned to say they were both fine was amazing.

The guilt comes from the fact that that should have been me going to Kings Cross that night, not my friend.

Guilt is a bitch/memory/fullon guilt trip
