This is a question Your first cigarette

To be honest, inhaling the fumes from some burning leaves isn't the most natural thing in the world.
Tell us about the first time. Where, when, and who were you trying to show off to?

Or, if you've never tried a cigarette, tell us something interesting on the subject of smoking.

Personally, I've never ever smoked a cigarette. Lung damage from pneumonia put me off.

QOTW suggestion
"Things I do to keep myself amused whilst waiting for the qotw to change"

No?

I like to think
about all those b3tans out there fwapping on their keyboards of a wednesday afternoon.

@CHCB
Yes, F5 turns up the volume on my Powerbook. Unless I press the Function key, in which case it brings up the spellchecker.

And I didn't know this until I tried it! How useful.

sigh
I've actually resorted to working in between checking for a new QotW...somebody please save me!

Now where's that file...
(whimper)

Fuck this for a game of strip chess!
I'm going to go and eat toast.
(, Thu 27 Mar 2008, 13:34, closed)
do you think
if we all go away and do something else instead it will make the qotw change?
(, Thu 27 Mar 2008, 13:35, closed)
Strip chess?
Never played that.

Does it still end with "mate"?

*Tries desperately to come up with 'bashing bishop' pun, but fails*

Ahh stuff it
I'm off for my third fag of the day.

Gosh I feel healthier already*

*guess what?

^Chess
Hmmm (and with apologies to RD)

....her queen was trapped between two bishops as the knight moved (in a mysterious way) to 'mate'.

No, it's crap.

Delayed the fag for a minnit, though.

OK, here's one
I got so fed up waiting for the QOTW to change that I had to go and look for pictures of kittens.

Have a fluffeh example:

This week
I am eating my birthday cake to pass the time.

Try this, then:
Development of the mathematical equations for the involute curve uses simple
trigonometry. We will develop the equations for 90º of one full involute. In other words,
we are un-wrapping the string 90º around the cylinder in a counterclockwise direction.
The circumference of a circle is defined by: c = 2 * p * r
One quarter (90º) of the circumference of a circle is then: c = p * r / 2

Using trigonometry, we find that:
xc = r * cos (ang) x = xc + ( s * sin (ang))
yc = r * sin (ang) y = yc – ( s * cos (ang))

This is what I'm currently doing at work. Wanna trade?

I think
I'll stick with the kittens. Can't get my brain into gear today.
(, Thu 27 Mar 2008, 13:57, closed)
@ Loon
Did it at Uni: no going back, can't do it any more. Mainly because I don't bloody need to.

No Trade =)

No trade at all. ;o)

Yay, a coworker told me where the file is!
@TRL...I don't get it - are you just converting between rectangular and polar coordinates? Or when you say "Unwrapping" do you mean you now have a "P" shape (the top half being the cylinder and the bottom half being the string that used to wrap around the other 90 degrees) and are trying to find the distance in x and y from the center of the circle to the end of the string (i.e. bottom of the "P")?

^^ What?
I'm a civil servant, of course I don't understand this.

I live here.

enjoy!!

I don't have ProE, I have SolidWorks and AutoCAD to play with. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get one of those two to generate a curve from a pair of functions, PLEASE tell me!

@Humpty
For some bizarre reason, that link appeared purple on my machine, as if I'd already clicked it!

Does this mean I have an alter ego who is stalking you?
(, Thu 27 Mar 2008, 14:20, closed)
hmm
Nope.. sorry, I can only do that in ProE... Not familiar with solidwrx.

Incidentally... ProE Wildfire is well named: Wildfires are unpredictable and financially ruinous.

Strange. very Strange.

@KDK6
thank you for the kittens

@HLT
Don't mention it. Any time.

Had a job finding them though. Can't think what I did wrong. I used "young pussy" as a search term...
