not my stupid colleague, but the wifes
Whilst out for the Christmas Dinner Party, my wife orders suckling pig. One of her colleagues pipes up in disgust. "But thats baby pig, its so cruel, its not even had a chance to live...."

"What are you going for then??"

"Oh I'll Have the Lamb please"

Isn't lamb usually a year old?

Two, depending on where it's from
Lamb at one year old is soft mushy stuff that doesn't taste of anything much.

The age is irrelevant.
If you eat a suckling pig from a farm that tourtures them daily (kept in small pens and seperating children from parents etc.) then it's a mercy killing -- if not then you're only giving them a short life in a muddy field.
Killing and eating other animals is cruel and atavistic -- I wish people were less prissy about the whole thing. Be vegan or eat meat -- otherwise you're just being hypocritical so you're not worth listening to.
Personally, I like to eat meat and am quite happy to have eaten lamb, moose, reindeer, whale, chicken, cow, calf and pig in the last week.

It was tasty though...
Moose reminds me of kangaroo and reindeer is just a more "meaty" venison.

Have you ever tried crocodile?
Tastes like scampi but it's got a texture like chicken.

Guinea pig can be heartily recommended.
Zebra and snake too if you don't mind faffing about with the fish like skeleton (of the snake that is, not the zebra, that would be ridiculous.) Crocodile tail goes particularly well with sweet chili and mango.

Reindeer
Now that's GOOD eating...

I do agree with you
but we are very sheltered in regards to slaughter processes and treatment of animals. I'd probably be a veggy if I had to kill for it, or i spent a month in an abottoir. Luckily I get it in nice little packages that look nothing like the animal in question.

Killing and eating other animals is not cruel, in and of itself, unpleasant as it may or may not be.
However, the methods used to mass produce meat for human consumption, may well be.
