This is a question Amazing displays of ignorance

Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

One liners I've heard from various people...
"Denmark is the capital of Germany."
"Are albinos black people gone wrong?"
"The Japanese are hi-teh because they have a hive mind."
"hot water freezes faster than cold water"
"Yeah, dunno where who robbed my car, probably some Iraqis from Greece or summat!"
"Don't buy anything from nestle; they kill babies in Africa"

Yes.
Nestle is a swiss company. And the swiss are notorious racists. They organised world war ii to take all the Jewish gold. Now they are funding armies of darkies to go around and kill black babies. That's why Africa is so dangerous. I can't believe they are having the world cup. But you know who's a World Cup sponsor? That's right: Nestle.

the squonky ouroboric nature of this is quite appealing

yes
it is, and continues to be the case. Even a cursory googling of nestle would have told you that...

something tells me:
This may need to be spelled out. The boycott only started in 1977, so not everyone may have heard of it yet. Here's a good introduction: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestl%C3%A9_boycott

I'm ashamed to admit that Kit-Kat Chunkys temporarily broke my principles. In my defence; at that time our chain of shops were part of a promotion (4 for a pound IIRC*), I got staff discount on that as well, pay was so low you seldom had the cash for anything better, and breaks were so short you seldom had time for anything better.

* You don't get many of them to the pound these days (Sorry for the innuendo; but I had to slip it in).
