I think I know this woman...
Her argument went something along the lines of "It's like dinosaurs. You see dinosaurs on TV, and everyone knows they aren't real, because they show you how it was done. But the werewolf wasn't on the television. It was in a film!"

Am I the only one who finds this an illogical way of asking the question?
As an explanation, my reply would be: A less well developed brain and/or an upbringing which didn't allow her to learn as much as she ought.
Or, to put it another way: did that belief really decrease her IQ, ability to think, or knowledge?

I do this all the time. I often find myself telling people they should be asking 'how' rather than 'why' (although this doesn't actually apply to this example).
