When people complain that you are layabouts, sponging off the taxpayer, point out that you're already £22,000 in debt and that once you're in a well-paid job because you've got a degree, you'll be paying more tax than they earn in a year.

nice thinking
but in reality back packing for 2 years round Europe after the degree, then getting a shite job because "you've got no real experience" doesn't really help to pay the tax

UCAS
I'd highly recommend people choose a degree that includes some sort of industry placement.

Or alternatively, meet a nice girl at 6th Form college, and spend two years getting laid (usually in the music department)instead of studying for A Levels, or even turning up to the lessons.
Then coming out of college with precious little more than you enrolled with, having three kids before you're 22 (and being sterilised to make sure that's all).
Be on the dole for several years, have a selection of naff jobs interspersed with internet jobs, and then eke out a living doing the occasional website, but not that often because you couldn't sell camping stoves to eskimos.

Length? Dunno, maybe about 500 times during college and that was 16 years ago and we're married now.
