Don't boil eggs with the lid on.
What turns the yolk green is carbon dioxide, and leaving the lid off will allow the CO2 to escape and prevent the greening.
May be poppycock, but it sounds good.

I have heard...
.. that what turns the yolk green/grey is slow cooling. Certainly, I boil my eggs for 10 minutes in pre-boiled water and then cool under a running tap for several minutes and the yolk is always a beautiful bright yellow.
