When in a busy nightclub (the busier the better)
Go to the bar. Wave a £20 note while waiting to be served. Keep waving it until someone goes to serve you. When they are getting you the drink, swap the twenty in your hand for a tenner, then give the bar person the ten instead.
About 4 times out of 5 they'll give you the change for a twenty. Isn't psychology fun?

i used to be a bartender.
that might work on some barmen, but the rest of us will give you change for a 5 and then tell you that you are either drunk or mistaken if you claim otherwise, and if you're drinking any mixed cocktails, you'll get less than half the alcohol you're paying for.
not an attack on you, mind - i'm just saying that bartenders and waiters are the wrong people to piss off. we're the people who handle the things you put in your mouth, after all.
