I find this frustrating.
In this part of the world, all dental hygiene products seem to be mint flavoured. There was briefly a citrus tooth paste and a mouth wash available, and I have seen 'herbal' toothpastes in health food shops (although these didn't have fluoride or any other useful ingredients). I have seen cinnamon flavoured tooth paste on my travels....

Without flavour, they have quite a strong, sharp taste.
Mint tends to go well with this taste, and lend it a natural "fresh" feel; sweeter flavours tend to clash and make them odd (if not completely disgusting.)
