An absolutely ingenious driving tactic I have come to adore.
En route home there is a notoriously busy roundabout where traffic stretches for ages to turn left on the first exit. Instead of waiting in the queue, take the outside lane (which is always deserted), go right round the roundabout and take the exit, since you will have priority over those turning left from whence you came.
Saves me 15+ minutes daily!

nash up the outside, super quick-smart, then get a wee jolly knee-down on the r-about before waving to the motorists you just passed as you take priority over them.
LOLs

There's a double mini-roundabout at the junction James Reckitt Ave and Laburnum Ave and Chamberlain Road. The traffic backs up on JR Ave, so I nip down Lilac Ave and come out of Laburnum Ave.

who uses this cunning ploy, although I always ensure that I have a slightly bemused ooh-am-going-the-right-way? expression on my face so that people will think I'm more plonker than wanker.

in one of Jeremy Clarkson's books years ago, he was wondering why nobody ever seems to think of doing it.
It's one of those gems that I only get to use once in a great while, but it's fun to make a note of what car is in front of you just before you pull out and see if you can spot it still queuing as you make your second lap!
Whilst concentrating on the road ahead, officer.
