Porridge
Like porridge for breakfast? Don't buy the ones in sachets! The bags/boxes of stuff is exactly the same and you get lots lots more than you do in the sachets at a much cheaper price. I think anyone who buys the sachets is a complete twunt or has more money than sense.

depends how hungry you are.
me pa showed me how to make as a child. 1 fistful of oats to 1 cup of water. Smaller hands means a smaller portion, so works for kids. The extra water makes it softer/easier to eat for kids.

Porridge is pretty tolerant to variation in proportions. Too much water, cook longer, not enough water, add some more. Left it a while and it's gone to a solid mass, add milk, heat and stir.

Porridge is great.

One cup of oats
one cup of milk
one cup of water.

A tea cup will do the job.

This also applies
to boils-in-a-bag rice.
