This is a question Starting something you couldn't finish

Finnbar says: I used to know a guy who tattooed LOVE across his left knuckles, but didn't tattoo HATE on the other knuckles because he was right-handed and realised he couldn't finish. Ever run out of skills or inspiration halfway through a job?

Half-Life
Utterly fantastic game, I could play it again and again...

Except for the Xen bit. I did finish it the first time I played it, and was hugely disappointed with the giant baby you have to fight at the end... ever since then, I get to Xen and give up. I've tried to do it again, but I just really don't like that part of the game O_o

Best game ever imo
Although HL2 isn't far behind. Agreed that the ending is crap but the first 75% of the game is so unbelievable and amazing that I pre-cum just thinknig about it...

Great game
I bought a used copy for the PS2 and rather enjoyed ploughing through Black Mesa. However I got stuck at the railroad section and gave up, but with the intention to return to it at another date.

Six years elapsed and Half Life remained untouched, it took the recent free giveaway of Portal to get me back into it. When I realised my PC was capable of running The Orange Box I thought I would like to give Half Life 2 a go - as such I set about completing Half Life beforehand, although on the PC this time.

I completed it about a month ago, over ten years since it was first released, and yes, Xen got on my tits too.

I can still remember the relief at finishing that bit.
Pain in the arse.

without a doubt! I didn't care for most of Xen
Still, I can't wait to see how the guys at the Black Mesa mod deal with Xen...

"Half-Life ... I could play it again and again ... "
that's the best way to get full value from what would appear to be a rip-off from the start.
