This is a question Waste of money

I once paid a small fortune to a solicitor in a legal case. She got lost on the way to court, turned up late with the wrong papers and started an argument with the judge, who told her to "shut up, for the love of God". A stunning investment.

Thanks to golddust for the suggestion

Huge waste of cash?
Anything with an Apple logo on it.

One of my most prized possessions
was The Beatles blue album.

:D
I'll let you off.

'Ang on a sec. Wasn't the Apple Corp vs Apple Computer lawsuit dropped as long as Apple Computer didn't try to get into the music biz (and vice versa)?

WTF is iTunes then? (Apart from buggy crap, obviously.)

You obviously missed what that fat black guy, Guy Kewney said about this.

"I am very surprised"?

[edit]
A quick glance at Wikipedia tells me that once again Mr Jobs sued the shit out of someone til he got his own way. *rolls eyes* The sooner his liver packs up again the better, the petulant little twat.

I was recently pondering wasting my money on an iPhone
and my research led me into a forumy digression, where I found a lot of uses of the term 'Micro$oft'. I'm sure we all agree on what that's meant to signify about the purveyors of Windows.

I found this hilarious. Because, of course, Apple are in it for an annual profit of £HAPPINESS, and their bonuses are paid in unicorn fluff. The daftly expensive sub-par tat they flog is that expensive to show they love you.

Also, Microsoft managed to corner a large part of the market by making Windows fairly easy to write software for and the technical data widely available.
Apple hardware is totally and utterly incompatible with anything that's not made or licensed by Apple. This is of course because they make top quality, highly exclusive goods, and not at all because they're greedy and short-sighted.
(, Thu 30 Sep 2010, 21:09, closed)
Nothing short sighted about it.
It's an excellent way to make more £HAPPINESS off your loyal customers.

and of course Bill Gates is just a jumped-up greedy little salesman
while Steve Jobs has set up the Jobs Foundation to give away all his money to help eradicate malaria

Very true,
but only if you buy them when they're still fresh!

oh, don't be a hater.

Pointless arguments vol. 125
Look I have spent almost my entire adult life being exposed to/ configuring/ installing/ managing etc. Networks using windows ( nt and everything since) , macs, unix, Linux variants and netware servers and the kitchen sink and I can safely say the following : all of these have pros and cons and all of the companies responsible are actually surprisingly after your money but apple machines generally work and work easily, windows machines are flakier but cheaper and more customisable if you are that way inclined whilst unix/Linux stuff are great if you like getting down and dirty with a machine. All of this posturing about how shitty gates/ jobs and the rest are is never going to change anyones minds and is no better than rival football fans. Frankly if it works for you fine, enjoy. Now who hates Oracle?

I don't give a shit either way and it amazes me when people do get tribal about it
hence my post mocking Apple lovers.

Suggest that the PS3 is superior to the 360, though, and I will fight you to the end. We all have our identity markers and the strange blindspots they generate.
(, Thu 30 Sep 2010, 22:48, closed)
Xbox 360?
Piece of shit coming full circle? What used to be a 4 sided shape is now a round shape? The reason for naming a gaming console this eludes me.

Anyways, depending whichever situation you are in will depend on which machine will suit you better.

Not sure which situation you'd have to be in to only require one USB port though.

Incoherent as ever, I see.

Oracle are twats, we can agree on that.
I was a rabid fanboi for a while, I've mellowed since. I get that other people don't have the same requirements as me and there's a valid reason for others choosing hardware that I wouldn't touch with a shitty stick.

However, patent trolling and using legislation rather than innovation really grips my shit and Mr Jobs is the leader in the field at the moment.

That makes my bum hurt
You better watch it mister, I've got an iPhone and I'm not afraid to use it.

I really like my Ipod nano
It's rugged enough to cope with my outdoors sports activites and has a brilliantly simple user interface.

I managed to drop mine in the garden while putting my bike away and despite an overnight rain shower it still neemed totally unfazed. I'm quite impressed.

Itunes however, sucks donkey balls.

My G4
Its a hard working machine that has been core to my business over the last few years. Every penny of my mortgage, every single holiday I have taken, every ounce of food I have eaten has been paid for by that machine. It has repaid its initial investment nearly a hundred fold, so, not really a waste of money to me.

Not a fanboi but credit where credit is due, its a hell of a tool.

Just like you. ZING!

Only Steve Jobs,,,
Could create overly priced products and THEN if you want to add more stuff to it, you can only do it thru his online shop AND only if he says so - AND you pay him more money for this priviledge and still get bummed by the owners of these insidious devices.

If MS tried this there would be uproar from the scarf-wearing, indoor sunglass wearing ponce crowd....

i got given an iPod Touch (1st gen) for my 40th.
That was three years ago. I think it has worked for perhaps two weeks in that time when it didn't brick while trying to install a software update. The local Apple reseller saw it more than I did while it was under warranty, and since then it's just gathering dust.
I don't have the heart to chuck it out, though, as it has a nice engraving from the generous (but deluded) friends who bought it for me.
(, Fri 1 Oct 2010, 12:24, closed)

I have many good reasons to hate Apple products, largely the price, but mostly it's the high pitched whine emitted from their users.
(, Fri 1 Oct 2010, 13:59, closed)
I'm clicking 'i like this' from a Mac :)
