Yes, Aiden are ridiculous
if you're older than, say, 15 and you're able to think in any terms other than tepid self-pity. But I do think you're taking their 'glorification of suicide, depression and self harm' way too seriously.
I think they're popular because they speak to people who are already limply fixated on those things, who are already depressed, who already feel like special, sensitive outsiders. Those people don't need anyone to tell them it's ok. But they do want someone to embody their unique specialness. Aiden aren't the only band who do that, and honestly, I doubt they're the worst by most definitions.
