This is a question Worst Band Ever

If I was in charge of the B3ta fatwa department, we wouldn't be hearing too much from Simply Red in the future. Who's on your musical shit list and why?

The late 90s explosion of vocal ornament
The Counting Crows
Dear Satan, if I have to hear that register-change in the first syllable of "Mister Jones" one more time...

The Dave Matthews Band
Dear Satan, if I have to hear that register-change on the last syllable of "Satellite" one more time...

The Cranberries
Dear Satan, if I have to hear that register-change on the last syllable of "Zombie" one more time...

Whitney Houston
How many notes can one wring out of one syllable?

Mariah Carey
More than you could imagine!

And since all this horrible melismatic lilting and warbling became a prerequisite for pop artists to add distinction to their bland fare, it seemed logical that a less vocally-capable artist would use technology to augment her voice, so thanks...

Cher
We can't "Believe" the gift of autotune you gave us.

Cher.
Everything that was wrong with the 70s in one increasingly plasticized package.

Actually rather partial
to Mariah Careys' boobs. Could give a flying-fig about her singing tho.
On that note - Dolores Riordan didn't appear to have much and I think Chers would more likely qualify as a new silicone lifeform.

I have to say
that I still think Mariah Carey is HOT. Say what they will about her weight gain, I think she's sexy as hell.

She is hot
but on the cover of a Christmas album, well, just no.

I'd have to take issue with Whitney Houston
She wasn't as far as I recall, too much of a warbler - and regardless of whether you like her music, she was an astonishing singer. And one of the best looking divas of her era.

I'd substitute her with Christina Aguilera. No doubt she has a very good voice, but all that up and down stuff just ruins it for me. Leave it to the taletntless twerps in One direction.
