This is a question Worst Band Ever

If I was in charge of the B3ta fatwa department, we wouldn't be hearing too much from Simply Red in the future. Who's on your musical shit list and why?

Anthem
Was the name of the track, as I remember, a bit of a rave classic if ever there was one. I dont think she was ever part of N-Joi though, only guesting. *goes to dig out record mirrors*

Exhibit A m'lud
www.discogs.com/artist/N-Joi

"N-Joi formed in 1990 when Nigel Champion and Mark Franklin (2) AKA Marc Kulak were 20 years old. They were later joined by Samantha Sprackling AKA Saffron. Initially playing illegal underground warehouse parties, they subsequently had quite some chart success. Adding Saffron's vocal performance to the "underground" sound brought N-Joi to a wider audience and they became one of the more successful dance acts of the early 1990's. They took their live performances around the world, touring the USA, UK, Europe, Asia and Australia. They did remixing work for artists such as Annie Lennox and toured the UK supporting Prodigy, The.
After finishing the 1995 US tour, the members of N-Joi decided to go their separate ways (Sprackling became lead singer of Republica, Champion and Kulak continued writing, producing and remixing."

I stand corrected..
Looking at their discog, they did a hell of a lot more than I remember, which was Anthem/Adrenalin EP and Papillon, which I downloaded on mp3 had on vinyl. I only ever heard Saffron on Anthem, so assumed she only guested.... wrongly..

I didn't know she was in N-Joi until today, we live and learn
Don't think she was on the original Anthem though as also found this on Discogs:
This song contains no original vocals - the complete list of vocal samples is as follows:
1)"I'm In Love With You, Want You To Love Me Too" - Gwen Guthrie - Peanut Butter
2)"Feel The Melody That's In The Air, Oh Yeah" - Soul II Soul - Back To Life (Acapella)
3)"True Love Can Be Hard To Find" - Darlene Davis - I Found Love

Presumably they recruited her so they could do live sets with a bird singing as staring at two blokes behind computers isn't very interesting.

That's pretty much what every other rave outfit did
my favourite was the lass bravely trying to mime the sample from "Ride On Time".

Haha yes
Watching her trying to mime to an overlapped dual sample - ie two voices at the same time - was pant-wettingly funny
