True, McDonalds don't put lettuce in their basic cheeseburgers,

About a million years ago, when in New York, I went to McDonalds
and bought the 'TRIPLE CHEESEBURGER'. When I got it, I was disappointed to find it was just a bun with three patties and three slices of cheese. Not sure what I was expecting, tbh.

Big Macs have an extra slice of bun, that's somewhat unusual.
But, yes, to the layperson who doesn't take an interest in the intricacies of the McDonalds menu, they're just large(ish) cheeseburgers. Hence, the Mac Jr is just a cheeseburger - I reckon most people would put lettuce in a cheeseburger, and burger buns tend to be topped with sesame seeds.
I'm sorry I can't get as excited about their special sauce as you, mongy, or their marketing department.
