Her brother finally succumbed to cancer a couple of weeks ago, he'd had months of suffering and the facial tumour was particularly unpleasant
she's looking after her own mother who has dementia and mobility issues and she chucked her boyfriend out over the weekend because of his alcoholism.

My partner went out for a couple of weeks not long ago but can't go back any time soon. Brazil isn't easy to get to.

We've tried, but she's adamant she won't accept it
there is a public health system but not sure what you can do when someone is adamant they don't want to engage. It's also nigh on impossible to know what's going on when when everything you know is via whasapp from a third party.
