evening
editing to add: i've got the full paid for version of stellarium, astronomy app for like looking at stars and shit. the full version lets you decide how many live satelites and other objects you want to see, which it shows live data of and if you turn it right up it shows you debris, old rocket boosters, rocket bodies, basically all the shit we've thrown up there in the last few decades, it tracks them in real time and tells you what it is, when it was launched, where it was launched and how long it's been up there for.
the amount of old rocket stages and other junk floating around up there is FUCKING INSANE, and that's aside the working stuff, most of it is literal rubbish.
excuse poor structure i just needed to blurt that out

the ISS has to use its thrusters every now and again to avoid debris
i think there have been a few collisions and china blew one of its satelites up a little while ago causing a load more debris. it's definitely a concern.
