I think we’re about to lose a much-loved relative
My partner’s gran is 81 and has been suffering dementia for the last couple of years but the disease’s progression has ramped up drastically over the last few weeks. She has lost the ability to speak or sit up, has gone into the foetus position and now has pneumonia. I really hope she doesn’t recover. This would be a merciful relief if she died now. We’re all a bit broken at the moment.

I'm really sorry to read that.
My grandma and great aunt both died in much the same way. It was awful, but kind of a relief that the suffering was over.

I hope no-one suffers too much.

Sorry to hear that :(
My nan died a couple of months ago under similar circumstances.
It was hard on the family but the relief was definitely there. I hope you and yours will be okay.

My grandma had always said "If I need to be intubated, forget it."
She'd been a nurse.

Sympathies to you and the family.
