I liked the world building at the beginning. It raised my hopes for what, I was certain, would be a terrible film
Also, the lad who played the synthetic was superb. The way his personality changed when he got the 'upgrade' was almost like watching a different actor. But then the rest of the movie happened.

The poor actor couldn't work out how to deliver a line that made absolutely no sense for his character, and it's the one duff moment in his performance.
