Frustrating organ repair threadFUCKING HELL.
I just had the best idea to repair this vintage organ: hold down all the keys at once and slide the repairing tape under each of the stoppers all at once, then cut away the excess.
I got a VALUED COLLEAGUE to hold two cardboard tubes over the keys to hold them down (thus holding all the stoppers up). The system worked brilliantly, the tape slid under the gap perfectly. I slid it 50% of the way in and my VALUED COLLEAGUE FUCKING LET GO OF THE TUBES. Now every single fucking stopper has a perfectly sealed piece of tape covering precisely 50-FUCKING-PER-FUCKING-CENT of what it fucking needs to. Every stopper now needs to come off, un-taped, retaped, and fucking glued back on to each individual fucking key. Exactly what I was hoping to avoid doing with this time and labour saving stroke of genius.
This organ had better be worth a million fucking pounds. Fuck.
The VALUED COLLEAGUE is unsackable, too.
At least now this gives me the opportunity to open the organ up and investigate the weird tingly bell sound on that one note. Fucking hell though.
