I may buy myself a new pair of running shoes as a Black Friday purchase
I always get the same thing so I know what the regular price is so if I'll be able to tell if it's really a bargain.

I always wear Brooks and they never seem to be on discount
Clearly there’s a conspiracy involving Big Shoe

I used to use Brooks - great shoes, but I run a LOT and they wear out quickly
For the past couple of years I've worn Asics GT 2000 and they seem to last. They update them every now and again so you can get the previous iteration for a hefty saving sometimes.

Yeah the road ones do wear out quickly if you do long miles.
I try and find last years or older iterations which are usually cheaper.

I like New Balance as a general running shoe
but as Cheers said, I always favour Brooks

I really like NB but find Asics are good to run in and are really hard-wearing too

I’ve tried loads of different brands but none seem as comfy as Brooks

Years ago I went to a sports shop and they filmed me on a treadmilll
They recommended Brooks and I used them for years, great shoes, but I just found I was getting through them too quickly - after a couple of months they looked like I'd been using them as dogs toys. Asics GT2000 feel just as comfy and last a good few months.

Was it Runner's Need?
They always seem to recommend Brooks

Dunno
it was a long time ago. I don't mind though, it was the type of support I wanted to make sure I was getting right rather than the brand.
