Have you had a chance to either talk through with a Trusted Other, or think through, how you might feel in the event you stop the payments? In the short term, and in the longer term? How might you feel looking back on this in 5, 10, more years? This isn't a leading question, it's neutral.

It's the question that I'm reaching for first because your kid is ok for money, and if there's no contact, you'll not know I assume how they feel about it...so you're left with your own feelings.
