in japanese culture you heat the person not the house an all, (traditional) houses are designed to mitigate the summer heat, few have central heating, it'd be pretty pointless, as they're drafty as fuck so yeah a warming drink in the winter with your 12 layers of clothing and your heated carpet is probably warranted.

One thing with Japan is they say things are ancient. Many of the original sites are, the monuments and buildings destroyed and rebuilt due to earthquakes and wars.

second bottle of sake tastes drastically smoother than the first and not just because i've had a few beers in between
