# Boo hoo
Sorry. Do you have to start another thread with a picture...?

I don't really spend enough time on here to pick up certain stuff....Some guy told me not to repost yesterday. He made me cry.

I had changed it !! Boo hooo.

# stay, it works like this...
post a new message if the content is
a) a picky that you made
b) a funny link that has not been posted lots already, (if you are unsure, the subject should be somthing like "might be a glasscock but..")

press the reply button to respond to a post.

if you wish to post a question or somthing of minor importance, find a thread that already has a couple of responses, and reply with the subject of your message "threadjack"

# There is no law...
...against starting a new thread without a picture, but bear in mind that the board only holds 20 threads at a time.

Every new post pushes something else into the archive.

Not so important when the board is slow, but at peak times everything moves pretty fast as it is.

Try only ever starting a new thread if you have something of great importance/interest otherwise you can always hijack another thread.

# holy week is too depressing
they should replace easter with a version of happy days

monday, tuesday, happy days, thursday, friday, happy days. sunday! what a day! jesus has rose again! he is our looor-or-or-or-or-d loor-or-or-or-od!

# there there its ok
usually you should only start new threads with new (or improved) versions of pictures, or a link to something original, like a flash movie or interesting site that you think we haven't seen before. Very late at night, e.g. 3 in the morning, when there's nothing happening, people look more favorably on text threads, and reposts, but during the day, its generally frowned upon.

# and a side note to the regulars,
perhaps it is time we updated the FAQ to include a board ettiquette section

# no
b3ta is a friendly place. a new person taking a couple of threads ain't so bad? it is the evening, after all. calm down every one. and an ettiquette bit in the faq ain't very fluffy is it? i might not have stayed when i first arrived if i'd seen something like that.

# I agree...
...I mean - it's only a stupid bloody picture message board thing.

It's not a life or death situation, is it?

# well I'm not talking about a hard DO's and DON'T's list,
just a general reminder/suggestion, as fluffy as possible, that only 20 threads fit on a page, so it is better to post a text message as a reply in an already used thread, and to try and keep the number of reposts down.

that information is in the faq, so its not like we're yelling at people, but i don't know how many people read that when they sign up. a short paragraph to that effect, when you sign up would still be fluffy, though, and effective

# Well...
...it should include not jumping down the throat of inexperienced users who haven't been here long enough to know the unwritten rules.

You've got to start somewhere you know.

I DON'T WANT NO RULES

if you've been here for 130+ days, you should know your way around. And this was dealt with quite patiently, really.

...I was a member for ages befoe I posted anything.

I used to just look at the front page when I was bored at work.

# most people do
because there are only 20 threads on this page, and we like to see most of them as pictures (because people spend quite a lot of time making them you see). every texty post that come along pushes someone's lovely work into the archive...

its pushing off another text-only thread...
