# It's been annoying me for a while.

# Yeah....I'm with you...
but then it never stops BBCNEWS, CNN, NBC, FOX, ITN......etc. etc...

;-)

# Hehehe
funny = true...

I love how they present it (and others like it) like it's a real-time documentary!

# Complaint to the BBC included:
WALKING WITH CAVEMEN

Man - Claimed that the faces of the early humans were too frightening.

Man - Claimed that the programme was blasphemous and was offended by this.

Man - Felt that the constant presence of Dr Winston spoilt the illusion of the
cavemen.

Woman - Felt that the programme was historically inaccurate. "It has never been
proven that humans evolved from monkey's so why state that it is true."

# Hang on
you can't get BBC1 in Alabama can you?
(, Tue 8 Apr 2003, 0:06, archived)
# no
but I get BBCA...
(, Tue 8 Apr 2003, 0:08, archived)
# BBCA is good
but you don't tend to get the crap we whinge about on it...

Mind you, you can just tune into any local affiliate and see something damn close ;)

# they showed EastEnders the other day
I laughed. I'd never seen an episode before, only heard people go on and on about it...it's just like an American soap opera, with a different accent.
(, Tue 8 Apr 2003, 0:14, archived)
# And
much less money...

I never saw an American soap where the cast didn't all have high-paying jobs, or no need to work 'cause of family money.
(, Tue 8 Apr 2003, 0:21, archived)
# but they all
really need to be killed off, right now.

Though I s'pose it keeps them off the streets...."spare us a one-liner guv? I'll do paybacks for a quid" etc :)

# Complaints BY the BBC included:
Audience - doesn't seem to believe what we tell them's true, no matter how highly qualified the narrator.

# yes!
i love that. what's happened to the bbc anyway, when did they decide to stop producing interesting & informative documentaries in lieu of programs that rely wholly on flash graphics & totally dramatised 'natural life'?
(, Tue 8 Apr 2003, 0:05, archived)
# You can tell when it's been Discoverychannelized

those bits where the tense of the narrator changes.

"But they would soon discover the one thing that could lead to their downfall..."
(, Tue 8 Apr 2003, 0:05, archived)
# And the mention
of said channel in the credits (a guess, but think Walking with Dinosaurs/Beasts were, as was Blue Planet) and I also guess that the program is 50 minutes long with a 10 minute "making of" segment. I've not watched it, but I know how these things now work.
