# I miss snow.

I miss being able to put on a huge coat and not cook internally. I miss scarves and gloves and hats and drinking coffee outside on a frosty morning. I miss seeing the birds arrive for winter and freezing my arse off at some God-forsaken nature reserve.
I wouldn't miss it for very long, mind, but just to actually feel cold again.

(I made this to keep my kids entertained...)

# 1) Go to the nearest bottle shop
2)Stand in the fridge
3)Realise that being warm is nicer

# What's a bottle shop, gronk?
Is it the Aussie equivalent of an offie?
(, Sun 21 Nov 2010, 2:39, archived)
# Tell me what an offie is and I'll let you know.
A bottle shop is a place to buy alcohol.

# Ker-ching!
Yep, we're singing off the same hymn sheet.
"Offie" is short for "off-licence", ie premises that have a licence to sell alcohol for consumption off the premises.
These days we're so sophisticated, we also do tinnies. Actually, it's mostly tinnies. Well, it is for me, anyway.

# "bottle shop", "offie"
In the U.S., round my parts at least, it's just a "liquor store".
How boring.
(, Sun 21 Nov 2010, 4:08, archived)
# I dunno
I've always thought "liquor" sounds quite sophisticated. Compared to, say, "booze", or "haha me and my mates are going to get shit-faced!"

# A couple of days of over 35 over this way.
& I haven't cleaned the pool yet - sometimes the bottle-o fridge is nicer.

# I find that to be most refreshing.
And dread going out again. It's just the three or four months o ver the summer that were very hard last year. Seems cooler this year, though.

# The very best thing about snow
is being indoors and watching everyone outside, in the knowledge you have the day off.
