Aleksandr A. Orta is one half of “Pop Goes the Blister,” the most popular brother-sister musical act in all of Ukraine. Along with his identical twin sister Anichka, the Orta siblings rose to prominence during the late 90′s with their song “Find a Kangaroo and Dance With It,” a melodious fiddle-heavy ode to rug-cutting marsupials. This catchy number quickly shot to number one on the Ukrainian pop charts and ushered in a string of hits that delicately mixed Turkish dance beats and Dutch doo wop with Taiwanese acid jazz and Arabic elevator music. Known for their identical beards, mammoth nipples, large (even by Ukrainian standards) heads and matching multi-colored liver spot forehead tattoos, the Orta’s are currently touring Finland with Neil Diamond and Scott Stapp from Creed.
