# haha - you can't have too many bald Garys...
TJ: A budgie flew into our window with a bang just now, so we let him in and fed him.

Here he is, looking wistfully back out of the window at what could have been...
He's OUR PET NOW. (At least until the RSPCA come to collect him tomorrow) He was cold and hungry, but much better now.

# aw hope the little chap's ok

# he seems tickety boo
- he's been guzzling seeds and happily sitting on my shoulder. He's very tame. In fact, budgies are a lot more fun than I realised.

# you could always hang on to him

# Yeah , but we've got a cat...
who'd probably be only too pleased to meet him. :(

# It's very very tempting. He's got a lot of personality for a bird, I'm genuinely taken with him.
But what about the cat?
(, Mon 30 May 2011, 18:04, archived)
# You can't beat "of" personality I always say...!

# Ah, perhaps that does present a problem.
I've got absolutely no personal experience of keeping a bird, I just thought it sounded as if it was 'meant to be'.
(, Mon 30 May 2011, 18:09, archived)
# haha - yeah, it does seem to be fate.
I even checked it out on-line, and some people keeps bird and cats, just in separate rooms.
Dammit, I may have just talked myself into keeping that budgie...

of Panic by the Smiths

# Why don't you keep him if you can't find the owner....
(, Mon 30 May 2011, 18:00, archived)
# He needs other budgie friends, I think.
They're very sociable.

# Little budgie sized BMX stunt bikes.....
Sliding down the arm of the sofa and bouncing of the lamp shade... always just out of reach of the cat.... just like Tom and Jerry but in really life......

# haha - and give them little ramps and half-pipes
for added fun.

# When he can do a triple back flip, get back to us. Links board, preferably.
I have to say, I found your bird story to be tragic. He's dreaming about his great great great great great great grandparents who lived in the forest. Now it's sitting on a window sill.

You're probably the best suited of anyone to care for him/her. I want reports back over the years about how happy your bird has become.

# I foresee it taking over the planet... just like in planet of the apes...
(, Mon 30 May 2011, 18:54, archived)
# Aw...thanks. I know what you mean.
I'd rather he was flying free, but he's so tame I've a feeling he wouldn't last long.

Here's a picture of him looking a bit less forlorn to cheer you up:

# YAYS
That is great!

But he's never going to dominate the planet if he's super fat. :)
(, Mon 30 May 2011, 19:09, archived)
# haha - he does look really overweight in that photo.
I think he's just all fluffed up and contented.

note: I am not a budgie expert - he may be overeating until he explodes.
