he seems tickety boo
- he's been guzzling seeds and happily sitting on my shoulder. He's very tame. In fact, budgies are a lot more fun than I realised.

Yeah , but we've got a cat...
who'd probably be only too pleased to meet him. :(

It's very very tempting. He's got a lot of personality for a bird, I'm genuinely taken with him.
But what about the cat?

Ah, perhaps that does present a problem.
I've got absolutely no personal experience of keeping a bird, I just thought it sounded as if it was 'meant to be'.

haha - yeah, it does seem to be fate.
I even checked it out on-line, and some people keeps bird and cats, just in separate rooms.
Dammit, I may have just talked myself into keeping that budgie...

haha - I was singing it to the tune

'Hang the DJ, hang the DJ, hang the DJ. Hang the DJ...'

He needs other budgie friends, I think.
They're very sociable.

Little budgie sized BMX stunt bikes.....
Sliding down the arm of the sofa and bouncing of the lamp shade... always just out of reach of the cat.... just like Tom and Jerry but in really life......

haha - and give them little ramps and half-pipes
for added fun.

When he can do a triple back flip, get back to us. Links board, preferably.
I have to say, I found your bird story to be tragic. He's dreaming about his great great great great great great grandparents who lived in the forest. Now it's sitting on a window sill.
You're probably the best suited of anyone to care for him/her. I want reports back over the years about how happy your bird has become.

I foresee it taking over the planet... just like in planet of the apes...

That is great!
But he's never going to dominate the planet if he's super fat. :)
