It's good, but I'd prefer to watch 'It's A Wonderful Life', 'Rare Exports' or 'Bad Santa'.

Bad Santa's a good film.
Jingle All The Way could potentially be on the list, though for different reasons. 'Puht dat cooukie dawuhn' and all that.

Far too cheery for me
I'll go for 'Oh whistle and I'll come to you, my lad' '68 version, 'The woman in black' '89 version or perhaps 'Jacobs Ladder'.

'The Signalman' has got to be my favourite out of your list.
Some cracking MR James adaptations about.

The spooky ghoul outside the tunnel gave me The Fear when I was a kid.

I never saw it as a kid but,
as an adult 'Oh whistle...' was properly disturbing, the remake less so.
Best to be alone for the full effect.

An excellent film, and the first to incorporate the now overused supernatural shakyhead.
Never, ever, watch it on acid.

Hah, it's the one film I WOULDN'T watch on acid.
That and probably Fantastic Planet.

I imagined the shakyhead was a Japanese horror motif.

Unsure if this hasn't been pointed out.
But it is a book already. Although not inspired by Michael Legge nor written by Charles Dickens.

I know :)
Toyed with putting Roderick Thorp's name on the cover, but it sort of derailed the idea too much.

Groovy, still finely made all the same.
Dickens suits the season.
