# A bt seamy, and prolly bindun, but...

...had to celebrate this work of genius
(, Mon 22 Apr 2013, 19:34, archived)
# I want to like that track, but it seems to be ripping off about eight things
Primarily:

Le Freak - Chic

Earth, Wind & Fire

The Bee Gees

and fuck nose what else

# to be fair it is Nile Rogers on the track so it's allowed
but it has been a bit of a disappointment so far :(
fingers crossed the extended album version shows a bit more variety

# Daft Punk's entire career has been ripping off 5 things per song, so that is progress.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2013, 23:06, archived)
# I don't think I've been this excited about an album release in years.
If I'm gonna nitpick Get Lucky though, Pharrell's vocals seem a little off... maybe it's just because I'm a major Daft Punk fanboy, I think it'd be better if it were the vocoder voice singing throughout.
But despite that, it's definitely gonna be one of the best, if not THE best, track of the Summer.

The Best Track Of The Summer isn't a very high bar to be aiming for, TBH.

It needs a remix. It's got some good groove and some good funk going for it, but that man singing needs to sound more like he's talking to me over a mobile phone. Otherwise it's not DP.

# I think Pharrell's on one or two more tracks on the album, along with Nile Rodgers.
I can deal with it up to a point, but really, if it weren't for the robotic voice half way in, I wouldn't know it was a Daft Punk track.

Well obviously the French economy isn't what it was. So it's understandable that they might want to sell some tunes to the yoof, to pay off the debts of the French banks.

At least there's the back-catalogue.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2013, 20:59, archived)
# Mm, let's just hope the rest of the album feels a lot more Daft than Get Lucky does in comparison.
If it's even nearly as good as Discovery, I'm a happy man.

# Time to fire up Disco Very?
I have a few friends I need to subject expose to Interstella 5555.

EDIT: It's odd how some songs from that album have grown on me. Superheroes chief among them.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2013, 22:48, archived)
# I don't think it's a particularly good song.
The vocals are mediocre with no real hook, and the Daft Punk beat feels lazily done when it finally kicks in.
(, Mon 22 Apr 2013, 22:05, archived)
# I have my own opinion on it, but ^this'll do.

"Work of genius" is a bit strong, I'd call it a "work of mediocrity", hardly ground breaking or their best work.
